After killing Maude (of the “Pursuit” trilogy), Maim discovers his own sadistic erotic tendencies.

After killing Maude (in the final volume of the Pursuit trilogy) and discovering his own sadistic erotic tendencies, Maim traipses around the Western lands to become more familiar with his newly revealed and tenacious proclivity.

Maim befriends Goat, a person who spontaneously ejaculates when he hears about or imagines a person involuntarily being pained on purpose. Maim has stories for him, including about Maude, who Goat had worked with. Goat is the telegraph operator and key to the anonymous assassin business Maude had established and that Maim is taking over — an anonymous lone assassin whose contact name is M.Sharp.

(Note: This book contains many incidents of immobilizing someone and intentionally paining them for the torturer's high erotic sensations, generally but not always a slow torture to death.)

A rancher hires M.Sharp to rid him of a pesky person or people who are shooting 10 cows of his every day.

The Grand Sand Spirit group is doing the cow shooting. It is a group of nutty religious nutcases who, it turns out, are being sponsored by the very rancher who hired M.Sharp.

Maim had some experience with theater and now uses his Rita persona to represent M.Sharp during the hiring process. When hired, Maim uses his Frank persona to infiltrate the Grand Sand Spirit group. The nutty Grand Sand Spirit believers make enjoyable fodder.

During the process of eliminating the Grand Sand Spirit pseudo organization, Sadi finds Maim. Sadi is as sadistic as Maim is. As Sadi suggested, they are Maim the Maimer and Sadi the Sadist. (During the last half of the book, Sadi reveals a pleasant but unexpected surprise for Maim.)

The harsh torture to death of the last adherent of the Grand Sand Spirit is an erotic activity enjoyed by both Maim and Sadi.

(This book is intended to begin a series. The book suggests things that are complete in themselves but also could be incorporated in later stories.)
